Jet Aire received an enquiry from a chemical manufacturing facility in Manchester, that had issues with some of its site drainage. A site visit was undertaken by Neil Simcock, one of the Company’s Business Development Managers, who advised that a full site cleanse, via high pressure water jetting and a CCTV condition survey should be undertaken.
As there were certain sections of the site that were deemed as hazardous, it required the use of Jet Aire’s Zone 1 Rated Atex explosion proof camera system. In addition to the specialist camera, the team had to operate whilst wearing full breathing apparatus, so the team had to be qualified in high-risk confined space entry.
The work was carried out over two weeks, with the footage assessed by the OS19X qualified team working at the Company’s head office in Aberford.
The team recommended a number of repairs, some traditional excavation and relaying, due to pipe collapses, plus No-Dig patch and lining repairs, where the drain runs could be saved and repaired with the minimum of disruption to the site operations.
