Jet Aire provides maintenance services for the Environment Agency

Jet Aire Services secured a contract to supply maintenance services throughout Northern England and the Midlands on behalf the Environment Agency.

Jet Aire’s programme of works for region-wide drainage networks includes jet vacuuming and CCTV surveys to identify any remedial requirements. The company is working in support of Kingcombe Stonbury, a specialist contractor in all aspects of water maintenance and management including lakes, aquatic weed control, fisheries, river banks and desilting. Kingcombe Stonbury holds framework contracts with the Environment Agency for civil engineering and maintenance works.

Before this work could be carried out, the pipe required a CCTV survey to establish the extent of the required repairs. The downstream manhole was located within woodland which meant it had to be cleaned out by jet vac and remote reel. The liner then had to be transported with a quad and trailer to take it to the downstream manhole.

Jet Aire Services Managing Director, Charlie Kirk, said:
“We are delighted to be working on behalf of the Environment Agency and teaming up with Kingcombe Stonbury, one of the UK’s leading specialist water industry contractors. The contract is further vindication of our investment in ISO management qualifications, specialist training and fleet capability which has equipped Jet Aire Services with the credentials to tender for works on this scale. The environmental sector represents a huge growth market for Jet Aire Services and in recent years we have secured business with a number of the UK’s largest water and utilities organisations.”

In 2017 Bedfordshire-based Stonbury acquired Somerset-based Kingcombe Aquacare to operate under the new name of Kingcombe Stonbury. The company has a nationwide presence with various regional offices across the UK. With a Middlesbrough office in addition to its Aberford HQ, Jet Aire Services has been established for over thirty years. In 2017 the company launched a civil engineering and groundworks division to complement its traditional strengths in drainage services which include tankering and waste disposal, UV lining, infiltration sealing, robotic cutting, root cutting, epoxy spraying and Ultracoating.
