When drains or sewers get damaged then major problems can occur. Flooding, leakage into the local environment, and damage to properties are just a few, but all can be very costly. One way to fix these issues is to dig the damaged pipe up and replace it with a new pipe. This can sometimes be disruptive and expensive, and in some cases impossible.
One of the most effective methods to fix damaged pipes is Cured in Place Pipe (CIPP) lining. CIPP lining creates a new pipe inside the existing damaged pipe and prevent further leaks or damage. There is no digging involved as the section causing concern can be accessed from manholes, and the revolutionary technology can be fed through to the affected area.
Jet Aire are experts in the field of drainage and only use the very best German-engineered tools. They can line drains and sewers from as little as 70mm all the way up to 1,500mm. With over 150,000km of drainage already rehabilitated, they have the experience to examine any situation and ensure they apply the best, and most appropriate, solution to fix any issues.
CCTV work is carried out to identify any problem spots on the drainage network. If the pipe is blocked or roots have intruded into the sewer, then these are cleaned away with cutting tools. The affected area is then examined to see if patching or complete re-lining is required.
If a complete reline is required, then a pre-impregnated glass fibre liner is pulled through the drain from existing access points ensuring no damage to the local environment. Skilled engineers prepare the liner ready for inflation, that will press the liner up to the inner wall of the existing pipe. The sleeve is inflated creating a new, improved pipe within the damaged one.
The new glass fibre is then cured using the latest UV light technology. This dramatically speeds up the cure time and increases productivity of the install crew. On completion of the cure the air flow is stopped and UV light train removed leaving behind a perfectly smooth and seamless new pipe. This new pipe has been tested and will provide a further 50+ years of activity. Following the install, a full video of the work completed is undertaken so the client can see the damaged repaired and the rehabilitation solution in place.
