Jet Aire sent a crack team to take part in the 6th annual It's a Knockout tournament, a charity event sponsored and hosted each year by our partner contractors, Seymour Civil Engineering.
Held at Hartlepool Rugby Club, this year’s competition was the second edition to feature Jet Aire’s participation and the seven-strong team from our Middlesbrough Office - named ‘Charlie’s Angels’ in honour of MD Charlie Kirk – put in a surprisingly creditable performance with a top-four finish. Charlie’s Angels are pictured at the event (from left to right): Darren Pavin, Gill Clarence, Aditi Bhala, Craig Liley, Shane Doherty, Lee Doherty and Adam Flanders.
All money raised on the day went towards Alice House Hospice in Hartlepool, a charity which aims to ensure people affected by a life limiting illness or the death of a loved one have the care, comfort and support they need. As the only adult hospice in the Hartlepool and East Durham areas of the UK, its unique range of services make a vital difference to the lives of thousands of families each year.
Those of a certain age will be aware of the original It’s a Knockout, a popular 70s TV series notable for teams competing in absurd games devised to provide ungainly slapstick and clownish comic effect rather than any test of skill or athletic ability - come to think of it, it isn’t really that surprising that Jet Aire’s team did well!
