Jet Aire sponsors Christmas sparkle for NHS hospitals

Jet Aire Services are proud to be sponsoring a new initiative launched by local charity, Leeds Cares, which will help add some festive sparkle for staff, patients and families in our local NHS hospitals this Christmas.

Many of the charity’s regular Christmas events cannot take place this year due to current government guidelines, so they decided to do something different in the form of their Sparkle fundraising campaign, inviting businesses to sponsor illuminated wall-mounted stars which will be installed on the Brotherton Wing at Leeds General Infirmary, overlooking Millennium Square. The stars range from 80cm up to 350cm in diameter, so collectively the display is sure to make a stellar impression. Jet Aire have signed up to Sponsor the Sparkle and we have contributed a £500 donation to the campaign.

Jet Aire Services Chairman, Charlie Kirk, said:

“Leeds Cares does fantastic work in support of our local NHS hospitals and this year they have come up with an amazingly creative way to raise money amid the restrictions caused by the pandemic. Everyone at Jet Aire is incredibly grateful for the heroic work of our fellow key workers in the NHS during the Covid-19 crisis. As a Leeds-based company, we welcomed the opportunity to get behind the Sparkle campaign and show our support for Leeds Teaching Hospitals. We are looking forward to seeing the stars when they are switched on later this month, on Monday 30th November.”

Leeds Cares provide support for eight areas which include Leeds General Infirmary, Leeds Children’s Hospital, Leeds Cancer Centre, St James’s University Hospital, Chapel Allerton Hospital, Seacroft Hospital, Wharfdale Hospital and Leeds Dental Institute. It supports NHS staff to deliver the best care for over a million patients and their families each year. Working with local communities, schools and businesses across the city and beyond, Leeds Cares provides £5 million in additional funding each year for Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust.

Through generous donations, Leeds Cares has funded life-saving equipment, research fellowships, state-of-the-art technology and improvements to the patient environment. Every penny donated to Leeds Cares helps to support the hard-working staff at our hospitals and enhance the experience of patients and their families.
