Carrying out drainage maintenance for a hospital is usually a time-critical project which demands 100% efficiency and reliability. The need to minimise disruption often requires flexibility and dedication, so Jet Aire were grateful to be recognised for these qualities after completing a contract on behalf of a major hospital in Yorkshire.
We were asked to clear the existing cast drainage of scale, but had to work within a restricted timeframe to enable the hospital to proceed with a planned Ward transfer. Following professional scoping and consultation to advise the client, Jet Aire were appointed to undertake the re-rounding of the cast iron pipework on Ward 12, overseeing the fast completion of critical work on behalf of the Facility Services team. We used our Midi Picote cutter to re-round the pipes and create access points onto the stacks.
Scale clearance is often a challenging project, but this task proved to be particularly tough as various unforeseen complications arose. Jet Aire’s team were able to overcome the problems through innovation, forward thinking and determination. We resolved all the issues and worked diligently until the task was complete.
The client was delighted to be able to move on to the next phase of its estate management and Jet Aire received some kind words from the hospital’s Facilities Manager:
“Thanks to the chaps that carried out the drainage works at the Hospital last week. I wanted to formally recognise the hard work, under difficult circumstances and time constraints, that was completed prior to the Ward transfer.
The guys worked into the night, which is above and beyond expectation, to clear the drainage and get the necessary works completed to allow the Hospital to go ahead with critical planned Ward moves.
Thank you to all who have been involved in this process - a job well done. Very much appreciated from the Facility Services team.”
